How to set up a VPN on a Mikrotik Router

Before we start an active ZoogVPN subscription is required and your device must be connected to the Internet.

Mikrotik Router L2TP Installation

To prevent DNS-Leaks you should enter a static DNS server. We use Google’s 8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4. as primary and secondary DNS.

Step 1 – Find PPP tab

Find the PPP tab in the interface and press “+”, then select PPTP Client

Step 2 – Name your connection

In the pop-up window, go to the General tab and name your connection.

Step 3 – Configure connection

Then go to the Dial Out tab, and here we configure the basic parameters of the connection to the remote server:

Connect to: specify the IP address of the remote server (e.g. nl.free.zoogvpn.com or de1.zoogvpn.com)

User and password: Enter your Zoog VPN username and password

That’s all, press apply.

Enjoy! You have now taken control of your Internet freedom, privacy, and security.
