We’re happy to announce that we’ve released a new major ZoogVPN app update v5.3 with introduction of a ZoogVPN Shadowing feature for Windows. To download new version go to VPN for Windows page.

What is ZoogVPN Shadowing?
We believe that everyone from around the world should be able to use our VPN service and connect to our VPN server locations. Some countries or firewall have a very strong censorship whereby the use something called Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) to identify the use of VPN and prevent VPN from connecting.
Therefore to ensure the freedom of use of our VPN service we have devised a solution that enables our VPN to avoid being detected as part of DPI checks and makes VPN traffic appear just like normally Internet traffic.
Most VPN providers do not offer solutions to DIP and thus failing a huge number of users worldwide. With this latest release in addition to Android app, users from places like China, Qatar, Turkey that use DIP to block VPN connections, will be able to connect using ‘ZoogVPN Shadowing‘ feature.
TIP: To turn ON the ZoogVPN Shadowing go to Settings –> ZoogVPN Shadowing and slide the switch ON. To turn it OFF simply slide the slider OFF. Please make sure you choose OpenVPN in Settings-> VPN Protocol -> OpenVPN.
More details from the release notes as follows:
- New ZoogVPN Shadowing Feature to bypass DIP and strong senatorships and firewalls.
- Kill Switch is now automatic and only works in case of accidental dropout of the VPN connection. If use has disconnected from VPN with Kill Switch ON the Internet will continue working.
- Many bug and stability fixes
Please also note that if you have any Manual API resolution IPs in place you will need to re-enter them in the Preferences screen to carry on using the app.
We hope the new release with ZoogVPN Shadowing will be welcomed by our users and we’re happy to hear of any feedback or suggestions on it.
